ª报告题目：Disparity between Urban and Rural: An Estimated DSGE Perspective

Alongside her fast economic growth in the past three decades, China has been going through a widening disparity in urban and rural area. In this paper, we are motivated to analyse what accounts for disparity between urban and rural area. To answer this question we develop and estimate a dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) model. The model incorporates capital market segmentation and rural-urban migration, which constitute an

important mechanism affecting the gap between urban and rural residents’ living standards. Our main findings are the following. Firstly, urban and rural preference shock explains most variation in their consumption respectively, most of the volatility in their income turns out to be explained by urban and rural technology shock. Secondly, negative rural preference shock and technology shock are the main driving force of widening disparity in urban and rural consumption during 2002 to 2004. Negative rural technology shock is also the main driving force of divergence in their income. Thirdly, due to the positive rural technology shock and preference shock, the gap between urban and rural residents is narrowing after 2011.
